As a Packaging Engineer, you will collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams to design packaging solutions that protect high-value and sensitive technology during transport, storage, and deployment. You will lead the design of internal packaging solutions for delivering parts to the production line, while working with Material Flow and Industrial Engineering teams on implementation. Your role will involve conducting material selection, supplier packaging evaluations, and ensuring compliance with technical requirements.
Responsibilities- Design packaging that protects high-value and sensitive technology during transport, storage, and deployment.
- Lead the design of internal packaging solutions for delivering and presenting parts to the production line.
- Conduct material selection and supplier packaging evaluations to meet technical requirements.
- Develop and review prototype requirements, execute against build milestones, and lead sourcing activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for accurate demand forecasting, procurement planning, and timely delivery.
- Lead risk assessments and investigations for packaging-related issues in transportation and storage.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and quality control protocols.
- 5 years of experience in packaging engineering within a high-rate supply chain or manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or materials engineering.
- Experience with packaging solutions in automotive, defense, semiconductor, or other relevant industries.
- Familiarity with defense packaging and transportation standards.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory management techniques, and material planning strategies.
- Proficiency in design software such as SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of ISTA standards.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of hazardous material packaging and compliance.
