Packaging Engineer I
About the Role
We’re excited to offer an opportunity for a Packaging Engineer I to join our team. This pivotal role supports packaging development across all products brought to market, working closely with category and platform management teams. You’ll be instrumental in driving innovation, sustainability, and cost-efficiency in packaging solutions for both new and existing products.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop innovative, cost-effective packaging solutions that enhance customer value and support sustainability goals.
- Continuously improve existing packaging and equipment to meet evolving customer and end-user needs.
- Recommend and support packaging initiatives that reduce distribution costs, minimize damage, and create competitive advantages.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with packaging suppliers to stay current on industry developments.
- Understand and communicate the impact of North American packaging legislation.
Technical Expertise
- Design capabilities in corrugated, carton board, paper wrap, and film structures.
- Ability to conceptualize and execute tests/experiments to generate actionable data.
- Familiarity with industry-standard testing procedures for packaging materials.
- Understanding of packaging processes and final art correlation to package design.
- Awareness of packaging laws and regulations.
- General knowledge of material supplier manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of company and customer distribution requirements.
- Awareness of industry trends in packaging materials and technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging, Engineering, Business, or related discipline (Packaging degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to work independently.
- Proven ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
- Expert-level proficiency in TOPS palletization software is required.
- Experience with ARTIOS CAD is preferred.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
