Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Ophthalmic Technician who will play a crucial role in our healthcare team. You will document physician visits in the EMR system, scribe for multiple physicians, perform work-ups after doctor visits with patients, and communicate with patients based on the documented plan provided by the doctor.

Essential Skills
- Proficiency in medical assisting and medical terminology.
- Experience in patient care and EMR systems.
- Knowledge of ophthalmology and medical documentation.
- Strong data entry and typing skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 1 year of healthcare experience, ideally in a clinical setting.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a life science is a plus.
- 1 years of on-site scribing experience or associated experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to multitask and handle a high volume of patient care.
- Driven, Type A personality.
Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday to Friday, between 6:30 AM and 6:00 PM, depending on clinic needs. Training will be held at the admin building in the Galleria for a day. You will work on a team of 8-24 individuals, with each physician requiring 8 clinic staff. The home clinic is The Woodlands, one of the busiest clinics in Houston, handling 100 patients daily. Support at different clinics may be required as needed, with schedules provided two weeks in advance. On rare occasions, travel to other clinics for training might be necessary, with mileage reimbursement provided. The environment is extremely fast-paced, seeing 80-100 patients a day. The dress code is navy blue scrubs, with no long nails, and hair must be tied back.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sugar Land, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.50 - $19.00/hr.
