Job Title: Microbiology Technician - Quality
Job Description
This position will be based onsite in Downtown St. Louis. The role involves preparing samples and performing analytical and microbial testing of food products, ingredients, environmental samples, and other matrices using approved microbiological techniques and methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Apply aseptic technique in all work conducted.
- Document sample preparation, quality control, and analytical activities.
- Prepare and analyze samples for pathogens, indicator organisms, probiotics, and other microbes.
- Accurately perform testing methods and read testing results.
- Complete required training to progress to more complex tasks.
Essential Skills
- BS in Microbiology or a Life Science.
- Knowledge of aseptic technique.
- 1 year of laboratory experience in a commercial food testing analytical laboratory (desirable but not required).
- Knowledge of ISO or GLPs (desirable but not required).
- General knowledge and experience in microbiological testing (desirable but not required).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Full dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer and carry out required testing and tasks.
- Capable of keeping up with a fast-paced, goal-oriented team.
- Color vision and depth perception necessary.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment
The work environment is a microbiology lab responsible for quality testing for all North American manufacturing facilities. The shift is Monday through Friday from 7am to 3:30pm, with potential weekend work to meet business needs or schedules. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as lab coat, safety glasses, and shoes will be provided.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
