Microbiology Lab Technician

Join a dynamic team as a Microbiology Laboratory Technician, where you will play an integral role in supporting the quality program by handling raw materials, qualified utilities, APIs, and finished product samples. This position offers a comprehensive training experience in various microbiological areas, including Environmental Monitoring, Sterility, Media, and Growth Preparation.

• Perform environmental monitoring within the microbiology laboratory.
• Support microbiological programs such as release/stability testing, sanitization/sterilization validation, media preparation, and growth promotion.
• Conduct qualitative or quantitative assays on samples using both standard laboratory equipment and modern automated instrumentation, ensuring accurate documentation and troubleshooting as needed.
• Interpret and evaluate data for accuracy, precision, trends, and potential GMP impact, recommending corrective actions when necessary.
• Participate in laboratory investigations and write routine protocols or conduct assay, process, or instrument qualifications.
• Train other team members as skills and knowledge allow.
• Recommend and execute process improvements to enhance laboratory performance.

• Proficiency in microbiology and quality control within a laboratory setting.
• Demonstrated proficiency in aseptic techniques and sterility.
• At least 1 year of experience within an aseptic environment.

• Ability to quickly learn new skills and techniques.
• High productivity with the ability to multi-task effectively.
• Attention to detail and a low error rate.
• Flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment.
• Good laboratory technique to prevent cross-contamination or misidentification of samples.
• Comprehension and execution of both routine and non-routine analyses from compendial and internal sources.

This role is based in a Microbiology Lab operating within a GMP environment. You will be part of a collaborative team dedicated to maintaining high quality standards and continuous improvement in laboratory practices.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kalamazoo, MI.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Kalamazoo,MI.
