Microbiologist

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Microbiologist to ensure Environmental Monitoring (EM) of our facility's controlled areas is performed as required. You will be responsible for documenting EM testing into the EM database prior to incubation, ensuring samples are correctly incubated, and recording sample results in the EM database following incubation. Additionally, you will compile trending data for EM testing to support investigations and audit personnel aseptic technique in controlled areas, including during process simulations (media fills).

• Ensure Environmental Monitoring (EM) of the facility’s controlled areas is performed as required.
• Document EM testing into the EM database prior to incubation and ensure samples are correctly incubated.
• Record sample results in the EM database following incubation.
• Compile trending data for EM testing to support investigations.
• Audit personnel aseptic technique in controlled areas including during process simulations (media fills).
• Author laboratory event and investigation reports.
• Communicate issues between departments as appropriate.
• Communicate effectively with co-workers to ensure all required tasks are completed as expected.
• Document test data clearly and accurately.
• Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, cGMPs, and regulatory standards.

• BS/BA Degree in Microbiology or Biology.
• Microbiology coursework and laboratory work utilizing aseptic technique.
• Ability to pass and maintain Class 100/ISO 5/Grade A gowning qualification.
• Ability to lift 20 lbs.

• Pharmaceutical experience is a plus.

The work environment is a very large GMP regulated manufacturing facility currently undergoing expansion. There are multiple buildings on the campus, and the facility is in the process of adding new manufacturing lines, including new filling/compounding suites. The line 21 IV bag line is expected to go commercial by the end of the year. Currently, the site employs 44 people with plans to increase to 100 by the end of the year and triple that in three years. The facility is involved in producing drugs like Vitamin B, hard narcotics, antibiotics, and hormones, among other generic medicines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bedford, OH.

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $26.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Bedford,OH.
