Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Metallurgical Chemist with strong expertise in ICP-OES techniques to join our laboratory team. This role supports both R&D and production quality control, focusing on the analytical testing of mineral concentrates, metals, and process solutions.

Responsibilities

• Perform elemental analysis using ICP-OES (Optima 8300 or equivalent).
• Prepare, digest, and analyze solid and liquid samples.
• Support metallurgical process development, including work with leach solutions, concentrates, residues, and metals.
• Conduct wet chemistry techniques such as titrations, gravimetric analysis, and acid/base digestion.
• Calibrate and maintain ICP instruments, ensuring accuracy and data integrity.
• Develop and validate new analytical methods for metals and alloys.
• Interpret and report results to engineers, researchers, and management.
• Maintain QA/QC-compliant laboratory records and follow EH&S standards.
• Collaborate with R&D, process engineering, and operations teams.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry.
• Experience with ICP-OES and wet chemistry.
• Strong analytical and titration skills.
• Familiarity with QC, FTIR, GC-MS, Gas Chromatography, ICP, ICP-OES, and XRF.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry.
• Hands-on ICP-OES experience.
• Strong experience in wet chemistry and metallurgical analysis.
• Detail-oriented with excellent data interpretation and reporting skills.
• Commitment to safe laboratory practices and regulatory compliance.

Work Environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $28.85/hr.
