Job Title: Ophthalmic Scribe

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Scribe to document physician visits in the EMR system, scribe for multiple physicians, assist with instruments as requested, perform work-ups after doctor visits, and communicate with patients according to the documented plan provided by the physician.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in medical assisting and medical terminology.
• Experience with EMR systems and scribing.
• Knowledge of ophthalmology and medical documentation.
• Strong data entry and typing skills.
• Patient care expertise.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a life science.
• Minimum of 1 year of on-site scribing experience.
• Ophthalmic experience preferred.
• Strong multi-tasking abilities.
• Positive energy and driven personality.

Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with hours ranging from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM, depending on clinic needs. Initial training occurs at the admin building in the Galleria. The role involves working with a team of 8-24 staff members, with each physician requiring 8 clinic staff. The home clinic is one of the busiest in Houston, with the potential to see 100 patients a day. Schedules are provided 2 weeks in advance, with rare travel to other clinics for training. Employees work onsite in Bellaire with monthly travel to The Woodlands and Beaumont, with mileage reimbursement for travel beyond the primary clinics. The environment is extremely fast-paced, seeing 80-100 patients a day. The dress code requires navy blue scrubs, short and groomed nails, and hair must be tied back.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bellaire, TX.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Bellaire,TX.
