Job Title: Medical Science Liaison (Homebased)

Job Description

The Medical Science Liaison builds and maintains strong relationships with key opinion leaders, supports evidence generation and clinical research, leads medical education and scientific communication, and contributes strategic and regulatory insights to advance product adoption and lifecycle planning. The position operates at the intersection of Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, and Commercial teams to ensure fair-balanced, compliant, and impactful scientific exchange.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with national and regional key opinion leaders, investigators, and clinical societies in urology and oncology to deepen understanding of the scientific and clinical value of IsoPSA.
  • Serve as the primary scientific resource for external stakeholders by conducting fair-balanced, evidence-based scientific exchange on IsoPSA data, the IsoClear SIA platform and methodology, and the role of IsoPSA in the prostate cancer diagnostic pathway.
  • Gather, synthesize, and relay clinical insights, unmet medical needs, and feedback from the field to internal teams, including Research & Development, Commercial, Regulatory Affairs, and Clinical Operations, to inform product lifecycle planning, clinical strategy, and educational initiatives.
  • Support clinical research initiatives under the direction of the Clinical Operations team by acting as a primary contact for investigators involved in investigator-initiated studies, facilitating internal review of proposals for feasibility and conduct, and ensuring timely communication throughout the review process.
  • Identify potential clinical trial sites and investigators for company-sponsored trials and assist with site communications and engagement during active sponsored studies.
  • Support the design and execution of Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) studies to demonstrate the real-world value, clinical utility, and payer-access benefits of IsoPSA.
  • Contribute to the development of high-quality clinical abstracts, posters, and manuscripts for presentation at national and international medical conferences and for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on the scientific data, mechanism of action, and clinical use of IsoPSA for Commercial, Market Access, Research & Development, and Clinical Operations teams.

Essential Skills

  • Advanced clinical or scientific degree in a life science discipline related to oncology (such as MD, PharmD, RN, or PhD).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Medical Affairs, Clinical Affairs, or Medical Science Liaison role within the diagnostics or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience functioning as a Medical Science Liaison or in a Medical Affairs capacity.
  • Specific experience in oncology, with strong preference for urologic oncology, liquid biopsy, or biomarker-based diagnostics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Demonstrated scientific acumen, including the ability to critically review, interpret, and communicate complex clinical study data, basic science findings, and biostatistical analyses.
  • Experience working with data related to protein structure analysis and proteomic or genomic cancer biomarkers.
  • Deep understanding of the legal and regulatory landscape governing medical communications and scientific exchange for in vitro diagnostic (IVD) and in vitro diagnostic regulation (IVDR) products in the United States and internationally.
  • Exceptional presentation skills and the ability to tailor technical content to diverse audiences, including scientists, clinicians, commercial teams, and market access stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) studies and communicating clinical utility and real-world evidence to payers and healthcare systems.
  • Familiarity with post-market surveillance requirements and quality systems relevant to in vitro diagnostics.
  • Comfort with frequent travel, estimated at 50–70%, for conferences, key opinion leader meetings, and internal meetings.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $73.00/hr.
