Job Title: Onsite Medical Representative (Sioux Falls, SD)Job Description

The Onsite Medical Representative supports a safe and healthy workplace by providing first aid, health guidance, and safety education to employees in a fast-paced industrial environment. This role works closely with Workplace Health & Safety leadership to manage on-site medical needs, coordinate workers’ compensation and return-to-work programs, and promote injury prevention through proactive engagement on the operations floor. The Onsite Medical Representative independently assesses and treats minor occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses, facilitates referrals to outside medical providers, and contributes to safety initiatives and case management reviews.

Responsibilities
  • Provide timely first aid support to employees and make appropriate referrals to outside medical providers when needed.
  • Independently assess occupational and non-occupational injuries or illnesses and offer guidance to employees on next steps.
  • Minimize employee risk of injury through ongoing awareness, education, and proactive engagement on the operations floor.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all care provided to employees.
  • Coordinate and maintain workers’ compensation and return-to-work programs for employees with work-related injuries.
  • Participate in weekly case management review meetings as required.
  • Attend weekly associate safety committee meetings and actively contribute to safety discussions and initiatives.
  • Greet new hires at the site and provide health, wellness, and safety orientation through group or one-on-one interactions.
  • Engage regularly with employees and leadership on the operations floor to provide coaching on observed at-risk work habits and safe work practices.
  • Maintain a clean and organized medical workspace and ensure appropriate medical supply inventory is stocked and available.
  • Provide daily activity logs and detailed end-of-shift reports to support continuity of care and safety operations.
  • Participate in training and certification activities to facilitate first aid, CPR, and AED certification classes.
  • Maintain all required first aid, CPR, and AED credentials in good standing.
  • Assist with random saliva drug testing protocols in accordance with site procedures.
  • Maintain effective care delivery during emergencies and assist with emergency response activities at the site.
  • Learn and apply OSHA regulations, risk assessment, and analysis principles as part of ongoing safety and compliance efforts.
  • Support safety operations as part of the broader onsite Workplace Health & Safety team.
  • Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach as part of daily duties.
  • Stand and walk for up to 12 hours during shifts in a large industrial facility.
  • Continuously climb and descend stairs at sites where stairs are present.
  • Work effectively in an environment with variable noise levels, temperatures, and weather conditions, including areas such as outside loading departments.
Essential Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved emergency cardiac care (ECC) provider.
  • Current valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic certification from a Department of Health or the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
  • Ability to obtain an adult First Aid, CPR, and AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within three weeks of starting, if not already held.
  • Ability to independently assess and administer first aid for minor injuries and illnesses.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining medical records and activity logs.
  • Capability to coordinate workers’ compensation and return-to-work processes.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 49 pounds and to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, reach, stand, walk for extended periods, and climb stairs.
  • Comfort working in a dynamic industrial environment with variable noise levels, temperatures, and weather conditions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with employees and leadership on health, wellness, and safety topics.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Certification to teach first aid, CPR, and AED training from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for documentation, reporting, and communication.
  • Experience working within an industrial wellness program.
  • Experience managing musculoskeletal disorders, ergonomics, and coaching on proper body mechanics.
  • Demonstrated work experience with OSHA regulations and workers’ compensation processes.
  • Proficiency in digital record-keeping and electronic documentation systems.
  • Recent job experience (within the last year or six months) in the military as a Combat Medic (U.S. Army), Field Medic (U.S. Army), Healthcare Specialist (U.S. Army), Hospital Corpsman (U.S. Navy), or Aerospace Medical Service Technician (U.S. Air Force) is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated passion for health and wellness education and advocating for employee well-being.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.
Work Environment

This role is based onsite in an industrial operations facility in Sioux Falls, SD, as part of a Workplace Health & Safety team dedicated to employee well-being. The Onsite Medical Representative works primarily on the operations floor and in a dedicated medical area, frequently interacting with employees, safety specialists, and site leadership. Shifts may include days, nights, holidays, and weekends, and can last up to 12 hours with significant time spent standing and walking. The environment includes variable noise levels and changing temperatures, including exposure to outdoor conditions in areas such as loading departments. The role requires regular lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, reaching, and stair climbing. The position uses medical equipment and supplies for first aid, CPR, and AED response, as well as computers and digital systems for documentation, reporting, and communication. The culture emphasizes safety, proactive injury prevention, continuous learning about OSHA regulations and risk analysis, and collaborative teamwork to support a safe and healthy workplace.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
