Job Description

Join our dynamic laboratory team as a Medical Technologist, where you will play a crucial role in patient care by preparing and testing patient samples. Your expertise will ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results using advanced techniques and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient samples for testing and determine the acceptability of specimens and results.
• Repeat specimen testing as necessary to ensure accuracy.
• Perform Hematology, Chemistry, and Urinalysis testing.
• Conduct laboratory tests and procedures using techniques such as ELISA, RNA extraction, and flow cytometry.
• Execute a variety of manual, semi-automated, and automated Biochemical, Hematological, Microbiological, and/or Blood Bank analyses on varied patient specimens.
• Maintain, calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Accurately prepare, label, and store reagents, standards, controls, and specimens for analysis.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Recognize normal, abnormal, unusual, and critical results and take appropriate action as established by laboratory policy.
• Verify accuracy of results and initiate corrective action when indicated.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or other related science.
• Certification in Medical Technology, Medical Lab Science, or Clinical Laboratory Science from recognized certifying bodies.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Blood bank experience is required.
• Experience working in a hospital or clinical laboratory.
• Ability to interpret test results and apply them to patient care.
• Proficiency in one of the following areas: hematology, clinical chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, or microscopy.
• Certified Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Lab Scientist (MLS), or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS). Certification must be from ASCP, NCA, AMT, or AAB.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN.

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $38.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Nashville,TN.
