Job Overview:

We are hiring an experienced Medical Lab Technologist / MLS to support a busy hospital core lab in Birmingham, AL. This role requires strong core lab generalist experience with blood bank and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform core lab testing (hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry)
• Support blood bank (type & screen, crossmatch, transfusion support)
• Verify and report accurate patient test results
• Perform quality control and basic instrument troubleshooting
• Work with Cerner or Epic lab systems
• Follow hospital safety and compliance standards

Must‑Have Requirements:

• ASCP‑certified MLT or MLS (required)
• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Science, Biology, or Chemistry
• 5 years of clinical laboratory experience
• At least 1 year of blood bank experience
• Prior hospital or core lab experience
• Comfortable working independently
• Must be local or able to commute to Birmingham, AL

Shift:

• 1st Shift | 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM | Monday–Friday

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Birmingham, AL.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
