Job Title: Medical Scheduler / Telehealth Medical Assistant
Onsite | Day Shift | 13‑Week Contract
A well‑established healthcare organization is seeking a Medical Imaging Scheduler to support a high‑volume outpatient imaging department. This role is ideal for someone with experience in radiology scheduling or patient access who thrives in a fast‑paced, patient‑focused environment.
What You’ll Do
- Manage high‑volume inbound and outbound calls to schedule medical imaging appointments
- Coordinate imaging services across multiple modalities, including X‑ray, ultrasound, mammography, and bone densitometry
- Review and manage work queues and incoming imaging orders
- Complete patient registration, insurance verification, and authorization processing
- Conduct outbound calls to reduce scheduling backlogs and improve patient access
- Provide patients with preparation instructions and gather required documentation
- Request and coordinate prior imaging and medical records as needed
- Resolve patient inquiries, escalate issues appropriately, and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with technologists, providers, and leadership to support workflow efficiency and reduce call abandonment
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent education/experience
- At least 6 months of experience in a radiology or medical imaging department
- 1 year of experience in medical scheduling, patient access, or a call center environment
- Experience handling high‑volume inbound/outbound calls
- Knowledge of insurance verification, authorization, and patient registration processes
- Familiarity with medical terminology and imaging procedures
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem‑resolution skills
- Ability to work within electronic health record systems and manage multiple workflows
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in radiology scheduling or a medical receptionist role
- Experience with Epic, Workday, Genesys Cloud, or similar healthcare systems
- Background in patient financial discussions, including estimates and cost share
- Experience requesting prior imaging and managing records or CD distribution
- Exposure to high‑volume access operations or process improvement initiatives

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
