Medical Assistant / Patient Assistant – Job Description
We are seeking a detail‑oriented and patient‑focused Medical Assistant/Patient Assistant to support daily operations within our clinical research environment. This role centers on assisting patients through the check‑in process, ensuring all paperwork and documentation are complete, performing basic clinical tasks, and supporting study teams during trial visits. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced clinical setting.
Location: Richardson, Texas
Hours: M-F
Shift: Varies from 7am -6pm depending on the clinical trail
Pay: $20.00
Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients, ensuring all required paperwork and consent forms are completed accurately.
- Review patient documents for completeness and compliance with study requirements.
- Perform basic clinical tasks such as taking vitals, measuring height/weight, and documenting information in the EMR or study systems.
- Prepare and clean exam rooms before and after patient visits, ensuring proper sanitation and supply levels.
- Assist study coordinators and clinical staff during trial visits, following protocol‑specific procedures.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and clinical activities.
- Support patient flow by guiding participants through each step of their visit.
- Follow clinic and study protocols for documentation, safety, and patient handling.
- Participate in team meetings and study briefings as required.
- Escalate any unusual findings, patient concerns, or protocol deviations to the appropriate clinical lead.
- Assist with general clinic tasks and special projects as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Strong patient‑service and communication abilities.
- Experience in a clinical or healthcare environment.
- Proficiency in data entry and electronic medical record systems.
- Ability to take accurate vitals and follow clinical procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, especially with paperwork and documentation.
- Solid computer and multitasking skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Medical Assistant certification or relevant clinical training preferred.
- Experience in clinical research or patient‑facing healthcare roles is a plus.
Work Environment
This position operates within a clinical research clinic and requires close collaboration with study coordinators, nurses, and other team members. The role involves direct patient interaction, adherence to study protocols, and maintaining a clean, organized, and patient‑centered environment
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richardson, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
