Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will play a pivotal role in configuring and developing solutions based on sales order requirements and specifications. Collaborating closely with sales teams, electrical engineers, drafting teams, and other internal departments, you will ensure the successful execution of projects from concept to completion.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and evaluate sales order requirements and specifications to configure and develop solutions.
• Collaborate with sales teams and potentially with customers to resolve requirements.
• Work closely with electrical engineers and drafting teams to produce customer drawings.
• Act as the technical lead on assigned projects.
• Coordinate with internal groups such as assembly, procurement, and field technicians during start-up to resolve issues.
• Approve project releases to manufacturing.
• Work with assembly and test departments to resolve issues encountered during build and test phases.
• Participate as part of a project team to deliver cost-effective, manufacturable designs.
• Provide updates on project status and timelines.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5 years of experience designing and developing electromechanical products.
• Experience in designing sheet metal products.
• Proficiency in development, design, and engineering of mechanical/electrical systems using both 2D and 3D CAD software, with preference for Creo.
• Experience with OEM design activities using mechanical design software packages and 3D modeling software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic electrical concepts such as current carrying capability of conductors, ampacity, and electrical spacing requirements.
• Experience in electrical testing.
• Customer experience.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
• Professional Engineer (PE) License.
• Understanding of seismic, wind, and vibration calculations.

Work Environment

You will work primarily in an office environment currently attached to a manufacturing floor, with plans to relocate to a nearby office in the coming months. As part of a team of four other engineers, you will spend 90% of your day at a desk and 10% on the manufacturing floor.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $58.00/hr.
