Description
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Field Engineer to support vessel construction and commissioning activities. This role is focused on field engineering and oversight, not design, and will play a key role in bridging engineering and production during the final phases of construction.
Key Responsibilities
-Provide on-site engineering oversight during vessel construction and commissioning
-Support and coordinate commissioning activities to ensure compliance with ABS and USCG requirements
-Review and verify engineering and design documentation for accuracy and constructability
-Act as a liaison between Engineering and Production teams to resolve technical issues
-Support development and implementation of practical engineering solutions to field issues
-Provide regular status updates to engineering leadership and management
-Split time daily between office work and onboard vessel activities at the yard
Additional Skills & Qualifications
-5–10 years of experience supporting vessel construction or shipbuilding programs
-Strong working knowledge of ABS and USCG regulations
-Experience in a field engineering, commissioning, or shipyard construction support role
-Ability to work hands-on in a shipyard and onboard active vessels
-Strong communication skills to interface across engineering, production, and management teams

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
