2D Drafter – Industrial Process Systems

Contract-to-Hire Opportunity

Position Overview

The 2D Drafter supports engineering teams by producing accurate, high-quality drawings for industrial water and process systems. This role is primarily focused on developing and maintaining P&IDs using AutoCAD Plant 3D, with additional support for layout and fabrication drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain P&IDs in AutoCAD Plant 3D based on engineering input
• Develop general arrangement (GA) drawings, layouts, and detailed views
• Support fabrication drawings for piping, frames, and skidded systems
• Incorporate redlines, RFIs, vendor data, and as-built updates
• Ensure drawings meet company standards, client requirements, and codes
• Coordinate with engineers and project teams to resolve design issues
• Support drawing packages for submittals and construction (IFC)
• Maintain organized CAD files, revisions, and QA/QC checks

Required Qualifications

• 3–7 years of drafting experience in an industrial EPC or design/build environment
• Strong AutoCAD Plant 3D experience (P&IDs)
• Solid understanding of piping systems, layouts, and drafting standards
• Ability to read PFDs, specifications, and engineering markups

Preferred Experience

• Fabrication drawings (piping, skids, supports)
• Exposure to water treatment, chemical, or semiconductor environments
• Familiarity with isometrics, line lists, and basic BOMs
• Experience coordinating with fabrication or construction teams

• EducationAssociate degree in Drafting/Design or equivalent experience

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plano, TX.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.85/hr.
