Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Materials Scientist to join our team at a leading medical device company. The successful candidate will be responsible for acquiring and processing data for materials assessments, supporting other scientists, and collaborating with medical device project teams on development and operational support activities.
Acquire and process data for comprehensive materials assessments.
Support other scientists and project teams in the development and operational phases of medical device projects.
Conduct materials assessment using technologies such as thermal analysis, microscopy, metallurgy, and failure analysis.
Provide expertise in testing techniques including surface analysis, SEM/EDS, FIB, laser confocal microscopy, vibrational spectroscopy, FTIR, Raman, DSC, TGA, TMA, and rheological techniques.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Material science, polymer science, or similar degree
4 years of experience and/or post-secondary education in materials science
Proven experience in materials assessment technologies such as thermal analysis, microscopy, metallurgy, and failure analysis.
Knowledge of medical devices and their materials is preferred.
Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills.
Results-oriented with a strong attention to detail.
Previous experience with testing techniques such as surface analysis, SEM/EDS, FIB, laser confocal microscopy, vibrational spectroscopy, FTIR, Raman, DSC, TGA, TMA, and rheological techniques.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
