Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer
About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer to support and improve production test systems for insulin pump devices. In this role, you’ll help ensure each product meets strict quality and safety standards before it ships to customers.
You’ll work at the intersection of hardware, software, and manufacturing—building automated test systems, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with teams across engineering, quality, and operations. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys solving real-world problems on the production floor and wants to make an impact in medical technology.
What You’ll Do
- Own and maintain automated test systems used on the production floor
- Develop and update Python scripts for test automation, data collection, and analysis
- Verify product performance (e.g., motors, current, assembly integrity) through testing
- Troubleshoot test failures across hardware, software, and processes
- Improve test systems by refining methods, thresholds, and coverage
- Design and modify test fixtures, tooling, and automation equipment
- Analyze test data to identify trends and drive improvements
- Support new product introduction and manufacturing scale-up
- Work closely with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Operations teams
- Create and maintain test documentation and validation protocols
- Contribute to automation and digital manufacturing initiatives (e.g., MES systems)
What You Bring (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing test engineering
- Strong Python skills for automation and data analysis
- Experience with automated test systems in a production environment
- Knowledge of electromechanical systems, sensors, PLCs, DAQ, and test hardware
- Ability to troubleshoot system-level issues (hardware software)
- Experience working in regulated environments (medical device preferred)
- Comfortable working hands-on in a manufacturing setting
Nice to Have
- Experience with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks)
- Background in building or improving automated equipment
- Experience with SQL or data visualization tools
- Familiarity with MES or digital manufacturing systems
- Experience in medical devices, medtech, or other regulated industries (e.g., aerospace)
This is a Permanent position based out of Irvine, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $135000.00/yr.
