Manufacturing Project Engineer

We are seeking a Manufacturing Project Engineer who can effectively interpret 2D drawings and manage small order quantities for tier 1 suppliers. The role involves identifying opportunities through defense logistics agency and OEM web portals, devising strategies for winning bids, and understanding specific client interpretations. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of project management, process engineering, and bill of materials, with a focus on 2D blueprints (70% 2D and 30% 3D).

Responsibilities

• Interpret and analyze 2D drawings for small order quantities.
• Identify opportunities for solicitations via defense logistics agency and OEM web portals.
• Devise strategies for winning bids, including identifying selling points.
• Understand and interpret client-specific requirements and blueprint schematics.
• Manage projects from inception to completion, including process engineering and bill of materials.
• Foster strong relationships with customers and vendors, particularly in the aerospace sector.
• Adhere to military standards and manage job travelers.

• 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering with minimal training required.
• Ability to read and interpret both 2D and 3D blueprints, primarily 2D.
• Familiarity with Tier 1 supplier drawing specifications, such as Boeing.
• Experience in customer and vendor management within the aerospace industry.

• Bidding experience, including cost breakdowns for materials, processes, finishes, and labor.

This role offers the possibility of working from home once settled in, with a 4/10 schedule where Fridays are off. The company is recession-proof, with over 51 years in the aerospace industry. It is one of only two roles that offer merit-based bonuses approximately every six months. The work environment is a small, tight-knit, and old-school setting, where you will work closely with another manufacturing engineer who has been with the company for decades and will closely oversee your work.

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
