Job Description

We are seeking a skilled engineer to develop and refine PC-based localization algorithms using advanced probabilistic techniques. This role involves implementing sensor fusion strategies, designing simulations to test algorithms, and leveraging programming languages such as Python, C , C#, or MATLAB to optimize and prototype algorithms. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the performance of location tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine PC-based localization algorithms using particle filters and other probabilistic techniques.
• Implement sensor fusion strategies that integrate data from IMUs, wireless signals, and other external sources to enhance position accuracy.
• Design simulations to test and validate algorithms under diverse real-world conditions such as multipath, noise, and varying environments.
• Prototype and optimize algorithms using Python, C , C#, or MATLAB before porting them to production software.
• Conduct thorough performance evaluations of localization algorithms to identify bottlenecks and implement data-driven optimizations.
• Collaborate with embedded, FPGA, and RF teams to improve the performance of the location tracking system.
• Stay current with the latest academic and industry research in probabilistic localization, sensor fusion, and state estimation.
• Rapidly prototype novel concepts and iterate on algorithm design to achieve production-level stability and robustness.
• Work cross-functionally with software, hardware, and systems engineers to integrate localization algorithms into larger systems.
• Contribute to code reviews, knowledge sharing, and team brainstorming sessions to maintain a high level of technical excellence.

Essential Skills

• 10 years of experience in developing localization algorithms for real-time operating systems.
• Experience in state estimation, probability theory, and advanced filtering techniques such as particle filters.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, C#, C , MATLAB) used for developing and evaluating algorithms in a PC-based environment.

Work Environment

You will be part of a team of 5-10 members, working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, problem-solving environment. The work schedule is hybrid, with in-office days from Tuesday to Thursday and remote work on Monday and Friday. There will be occasions when office presence is required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Southfield, MI.

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.

This is a hybrid position in Southfield,MI.
