We’re looking for a motivated early-career engineer to join a collaborative lighting team where you’ll take ownership of projects from start to finish. This role blends design, fieldwork, and client interaction, giving you the opportunity to make a visible impact while growing your technical and professional skills.

What You’ll Do

• Own lighting projects end-to-end—from initial request through final completion
• Work directly with customers via phone, email, and onsite meetings
• Perform site visits to assess conditions and confirm project needs
• Create lighting designs using AutoCAD and design software
• Develop and present proposals, project costs, and timelines
• Coordinate permits, documentation, and project logistics
• Track progress, maintain accurate records, and keep projects on schedule
• Deliver efficient, well-designed solutions that minimize rework

What You Bring

• Experience or exposure to engineering design, drafting, or utilities
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar tools
• Strong communication skills and a client-focused mindset
• Ability to manage multiple projects and stay organized
• Comfortable splitting time between office work and field visits

Nice to Have

• Associate’s degree in engineering, technology, or related field
• Background in lighting, electrical, or utility design
• Experience with lighting design software (AGi32, Visual, or similar)

Work Setup

• 60% design/office work
• 40% fieldwork

This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
