Lead Quality Engineer

As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for programming and operating CMM equipment, including Zeiss, Mitutoyo, and Hexagon, using software such as PC-DMIS or Calypso. You will perform dimensional inspections on components and assemblies to ensure they conform to engineering drawings and specifications. Additionally, you will develop and maintain inspection programs, fixtures, and documentation, accurately interpret GD&T and engineering drawings, and assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conforming parts.

Responsibilities

• Program and operate CMM equipment using PC-DMIS or Calypso software.
• Perform dimensional inspections to verify conformance to specifications.
• Develop and maintain inspection programs, fixtures, and documentation.
• Interpret GD&T and engineering drawings accurately.
• Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conforming parts.
• Maintain calibration records and ensure measuring equipment compliance.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality audits.

• Proficiency in CMM programming software such as PC-DMIS and Calypso.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and precision measurement tools.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• 2 years of experience in quality inspection or manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience programming and operating CMM equipment.

• Experience with aerospace, automotive, or defense industry standards.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems.
• Familiarity with SPC (Statistical Process Control) and data analysis.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Vero Beach, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $55.00/hr.
