LC Chemist

MUST HAVE
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related science from a four-year college or university.
- 3 years of analytical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting liquid chromatographic instrumentation.
- Experience analyzing and producing data packages for various data sets.
- Ability to troubleshoot, develop, and optimize analytical and extraction methods.
- Knowledge of data analysis software such as Analyst, Sciex OS, Multiquant, Tracefinder, Chromeleon, or equivalent.
- Proficient in sample preparation, extraction, and general bench chemistry techniques.
Job Description
Operate LC instrumentation equipped with conventional, MS, and MS/MS detection, HR-MS/MS Orbitrap or TOF detectors. Provide analytical services and results accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner to clients. Analyze samples using LC and GC conventional, MS, MS/MS, and other detection techniques. Propose improvements and stabilize analytical processes. Perform extractions and sample analysis as per documented methods and Standard Operating Procedures. Troubleshoot issues with analytical procedures and perform routine and preventative maintenance, verification, and calibration of analytical instrumentation. Routinely analyze, including screening, quantitation, and reporting, large-scale pesticide panels.
Responsibilities
- Operate LC instrumentation with various detection techniques.
- Provide accurate and timely analytical services to clients.
- Analyze samples using LC and GC techniques.
- Propose and implement improvements to analytical processes.
- Perform extractions and sample analysis following documented methods and SOPs.
- Troubleshoot analytical procedures and maintain instrumentation.
- Screen, quantify, and report on large-scale pesticide panels.
Essential Skills
- Experience with liquid chromatography, LC-MS, and mass spectrometry.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and maintaining analytical instrumentation.
- Knowledge of LCMS/MS, SIM (Selected Ion Monitoring), MRM (Multiple Reaction Monitoring), and Full Scan techniques.
- Familiarity with mass spec/tandem mass spectrometry.
- Strong analytical chemistry and quality assurance skills.
- Experience with assay development.
Fast-paced analytical laboratory. Standard schedule is 9:00am – 5:30pm. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $49920.00 - $57200.00/yr.
