Job Description
The Lab Technician supports daily laboratory operations by registering incoming samples, accurately recording and entering data, and performing dairy testing using specialized instruments. This role helps maintain reliable quality control and regulatory records while working with biology and microbiology principles in a fast-paced laboratory setting.
Responsibilities
- Register incoming samples promptly and accurately upon arrival to the laboratory.
- Maintain a neat, organized, and accurate record system of all work performed on a daily basis.
- Document all activities clearly to support quality control testing and regulatory requirements.
- Enter sample data into Eurofins eLIMS systems in a timely and precise manner.
- Learn to operate dairy testing instruments efficiently according to laboratory procedures.
- Validate test results properly and ensure data integrity before final reporting.
- Follow established laboratory protocols and standard operating procedures for all testing.
- Support general laboratory operations by maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow during the assigned shift.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and laboratory best practices while handling samples and equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 0–3 years of experience in a laboratory or related scientific environment.
- Basic knowledge of biology and microbiology concepts.
- Ability to learn and operate dairy testing instruments accurately and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail for accurate sample registration and record keeping.
- Proficiency in entering data into laboratory information management systems (eLIMS) or similar platforms.
- Ability to follow written procedures and standard operating instructions precisely.
- Good organizational skills to maintain clear and accurate daily records.
- Willingness and ability to work the assigned 2nd shift schedule.
- Preferred associate or bachelor’s degree in microbiology or biology.
- Preferred college-level education in biology or microbiology beyond high school.
- Interest in gaining experience with quality control and regulatory documentation.
- Ability to learn new laboratory technologies and software systems.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with laboratory team members.
This position is based in a laboratory environment focused on dairy testing and microbiological analysis. The role uses Eurofins eLIMS systems for data entry and specialized dairy testing instruments for routine analysis. There are two 2nd shift openings: one schedule runs Sunday through Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., and the other runs Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The work involves standing for portions of the shift, handling samples, and working with laboratory equipment while following safety and cleanliness standards. The environment is structured, process-driven, and team-oriented, with clear procedures to support accurate and reliable testing.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lancaster, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
