Laboratory Technician III

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician III to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with industry standards and performing a range of laboratory tasks efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and follow management system requirements, including the Quality Manual, SOPs, Local Work Instructions, and Methods.
• Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC /AOAC ALACC and relevant government regulations.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Register incoming samples as needed and maintain accurate records for work performed and quality control.
• Conduct plate reads and food confirmations.
• Run PCR platforms.
• Enter sample data into the eLIMS system promptly and accurately.
• Complete laboratory testing on all incoming samples efficiently and accurately, meeting or exceeding sample turnaround goals.
• Verify and submit results to appropriate personnel.
• Identify and report process difficulties and propose solutions.
• Maintain readiness to respond to queries from clients, staff, and co-workers.
• Foster cooperative working relationships and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Promote the company image through ethical business practices.
• Strive to improve work quality through the adoption of new and existing technologies.
• Identify non-conformances and out-of-specifications.
• Conduct all activities safely and efficiently.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelors Degree in Microbiology, Food Sciences, Biology, Biochemistry, or related field.
• 2-3 years of laboratory experience.
• Proficient in plate reading.
• Proficient in food pathogen detection platforms such as BAX, MDS, VIDAS, BACGene, or similar.
• Some knowledge of food pathogen confirmation procedures.
• Experience working in high volume environments.

• Sample preparation and laboratory testing skills.

The position is based in a lab setting where the candidate will be required to stand on their feet for extended periods and handle a high volume of samples. The shift for this role is from Tuesday to Saturday, 12pm-8:30pm, with overtime as needed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NA, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00/hr.
