Job Description

This position focuses on sampling, preparing samples, conducting analyses, and reporting on fertilizer products.

Responsibilities

• Receive, label, and safely store samples to be tested.
• Determine and perform necessary tests for analysis and reporting.
• Record tests and analyses, then report the results.
• Discuss and answer any questions regarding the results.
• Organize and store samples in accordance with safety and other requirements to ensure personnel safety and sample integrity.
• Clean and maintain lab equipment, including recalibration of equipment.
• Maintain equipment records and daily work logs.
• Stay current on technical and scientific advances in the field.

Essential Skills

• Experience in laboratory, chemistry, and biology.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• At least 6 months of experience in a lab setting, preferably 1-2 years.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Proficiency in computer skills.

Work Environment

The role is fully on-site, in a lab setting that sometimes smells like sulfuric acid due to proximity to a plant. Casual dress is required, with members wearing lab coats, goggles, and glasses. Open-toed shoes are not permitted, and pants are required. The work schedule involves 12-hour shifts from 6am to 6pm, with a pattern of working 2 or 3 days on and then 2 or 3 days off, resulting in some weeks totaling 36 hours and others 48, depending on the schedule.

This is a Contract position based out of Bartow, FL.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.66/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Bartow,FL.
