Looking for an intermediate level lab technician who wants to grow into a leadership role!

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to join our team in conducting wet chemistry bench sampling. You will be working in a lab environment, primarily testing samples of water and soil. On a typical day, lab technicians perform 60-100 micro tests, with the potential to exceed 150 tests during our busiest seasons. This role involves rotating weekly tasks and may include ordering supplies. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment rather than a quiet, step-by-step controlled setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct basic wet chemistry bench sampling, including Bio Oxygen Samples, PH testing, tepidness, odor samples, and settable solids.
• Perform water and wastewater sample testing in a laboratory setting.
• Execute 60-100 micro tests per day, with potential for more during peak seasons.
• Rotate through various weekly tasks, including DOB (Wet Chem), Back T Room (Basic Chem Analysis), Micro Room, and floater responsibilities.
• Order laboratory supplies as needed.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in laboratory techniques, particularly water testing and wet chemistry.
• Strong understanding of chemistry, microbiology, and analytical chemistry.
• Experience in quality assurance and quality control.
• Data entry skills.
• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related science field.
• 0-4 years of relevant experience. (pay rate will be reflective of experience)
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

The lab operates Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, with occasional flexibility required for covering vacations. Weekend work may be necessary, potentially working independently in the lab. Holidays are rotated among all lab staff. We are looking for someone who is a go-getter, sees the big picture, and is eager to make a positive impact. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Stockton, CA.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Stockton,CA.
