Job Description
As a Lab Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting laboratory operations by preparing analytical reagents, operating equipment, and maintaining glassware stock. You will perform routine chemical and physical testing of pharmaceutical materials, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare analytical reagents and solutions as directed by analytical test methods.
- Operate automated glass washing equipment and maintain glassware stock in laboratories.
- Dispose of laboratory waste in accordance with SOP and regulatory requirements.
- Order and maintain inventory of reagent chemicals used in the laboratory.
- Conduct routine chemical and physical testing of pharmaceutical raw materials, finished products, and stability samples by internally developed and compendial test methods.
- Maintain and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation as needed.
- Clearly and accurately communicate the results of work by creating documentation of the testing/analysis and obtained results.
- Record and report results of analysis in accordance with prescribed lab procedures and systems.
- Maintain and organize work area, instrumentation, and testing materials.
- Perform all duties in strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices, and Safety guidelines.
- Proficiency in chemistry.
- Experience performing chemical or physical tests with chromatographic, spectroscopic, or other analytical techniques.
- Understanding of safe work practices and knowledge of chemical hazards.
- Ability to read and follow detailed procedures and instructions.
- Good problem solving skills and a logical approach to solving problems.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Ability to apply mathematical operations to tasks such as determination of test reliability, analysis of variance, and correlation techniques.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft Outlook for email.
- Experience in sampling of raw materials, excipients, and drug products.
The position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination to move about office locations. You should be capable of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and crouching periodically for prolonged periods. The job involves handling light to medium weights of 10-35 pounds, using arm, hand, and finger dexterity, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, computer monitor, and operate equipment. Safety glasses, safety shoes, lab coat, latex or similar gloves, safety apron, and organic respirator are occasionally required.

This is a Contract position based out of Cincinnati, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
