What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Technician position at Actalent?
We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to join our team and support essential laboratory functions. You will play a crucial role in preparing media and buffers for cell culture experiments, maintaining laboratory supplies, and ensuring the smooth operation of lab activities.
Responsibilities- Prepare media and buffers to support cell culture experiments and other lab activities under the supervision of a Lab Manager.
- Support troubleshooting efforts to identify and correct deviations in media preparations.
- Assist scientists with media and buffer investigations.
- Regularly inventory lab supplies and support chemical inventory efforts.
- Assist in ordering lab supplies.
- Support efforts to increase lab productivity and efficiency.
- Regularly clean and maintain lab and lab equipment.
- Support other groups with solution preparation and lab maintenance activities as time allows.
- Autoclave solution and cell culture assemblies as needed.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and biologics manufacturing.
- Foundational chemistry knowledge, including understanding of pH, osmolarity, and calculations for creating chemical solutions.
- Strong attention to detail, including making scientific observations.
- Associate degree with two years of relevant laboratory experience or an entry-level Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry, biology, or a related field.
- Experience in cleaning and maintaining scientific equipment.
- Familiarity with preparing cell culture media and buffers.
- Experience with improving lab efficiency, such as lean 6-sigma training.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize work.
The lab environment is dynamic and collaborative, equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and equipment. The role requires regular maintenance of lab spaces and adherence to safety protocols. Dress code is standard lab attire to ensure safety and cleanliness.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
