Lab Tech

The Lab Technician will perform essential functions under supervision to support the development work within the laboratory. This role involves carrying out technical tasks, conducting stability work, and managing the ordering of raw materials and samples. The technician will also manage the environmental stability and validation samples in collaboration with their supervisor.

• Conduct laboratory batching of prototype and final formulations, including liquid, emulsion, and surfactant formulas, for clinical and consumer studies, product stability testing, and customer review using approved procedures after completing successful training.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, such as balances, pH meters, and viscometers.
• Manage time independently and ensure proper documentation of notebooks, logbooks, and other relevant documentation like raw material MSDS, following laboratory procedures and corporate safety and quality standards.
• Participate in investigations of out-of-specification test results or stability issues and review findings with Laboratory management.
• Handle sample management and ordering of raw materials and finished goods.
• Evaluate and analyze competitive products and report results.
• Assist in cleaning lab glassware using a dishwasher and maintain a clean laboratory environment, adhering to all corporate health and safety protocols.

• Understanding of laboratory safety requirements and working with laboratory chemicals and the MSDS system.
• General understanding of chemical test methods, chemical instrumentation, and basic wet chemistry techniques.

• High school diploma or a 2-year associate degree in a technical or science field.
• Experience in Chemistry or Biology, with some chemistry lab work experience from high school or college.
• Prior experience in a laboratory environment, such as Research & Development, Quality Assurance, or Quality Control, is desirable.
• Experience working with personal care, hair care, skin care, or oral care products is desirable.

The laboratory environment requires adherence to safety protocols and the maintenance of equipment. The role involves working with various chemical formulations and requires a clean and organized workspace. The technician must be comfortable working independently, managing time effectively, and maintaining detailed documentation.

This is a Permanent position based out of Mainland, PA.

The pay range for this position is $45000.00 - $52000.00/yr.
