Job Title: Lab Pack Chemist

Job Description

An environmental services company is seeking a Lab Pack Chemist in the Raleigh area. The Lab Pack Chemist will provide packaging and repackaging services for hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals. Responsibilities include inventorying, segregating, and packing materials for transportation and disposal. The role also involves supervising routine customer site lab pack projects and offering paper pack and customer pre-pack services.

Responsibilities

• Accurately inventory, segregate, and pack hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals for transportation and disposal.
• Supervise routine customer site lab pack projects.
• Provide paper pack and customer pre-pack services.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations regarding chemical handling.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Life Science, or Environmental Science.
• Laboratory experience, particularly with hazardous chemicals.
• Understanding of chemical reactions and handling protocols.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations related to chemical transportation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with hazardous waste management.

Work Environment

The position operates Monday through Friday during normal business hours, with potential for 1-2 days per week of overnight travel primarily within North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. Travel schedules are provided well in advance. The company covers all hotel and vehicle expenses, with a per diem for food expenses. The role involves working in teams and traveling to customer sites; there is no lab work or testing involved. Assignments are received at the Raleigh office, a small warehouse, before heading out for the day.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48000.00 - $48000.00/yr.

hourly rate plus PTO and per diem for travel. Rate is 24/hour
