What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Project Manager position at Actalent?
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of industrial construction projects from start to finish. You will work alongside the Project Manager to handle planning, scheduling, coordination, and safety, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Responsibilities- Assist in overseeing daily project activities and progress reviews.
- Help identify and manage risks, resolve issues, and prevent delays.
- Support planning and execution across all phases of construction.
- Ensure safety and quality standards are met throughout the project.
- Experience in construction management and industrial project coordination.
- Proficiency in schedule planning, field coordination, and estimating.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or similar field (preferred).
- 1-2 years of experience in the construction industry, ideally in a field role.
- Ability to travel and work out-of-state for up to 60 days at times.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite is a plus.
- Proficiency in planning/scheduling software such as Primavera or MS Project is a plus.
The work environment is split roughly 50/50 between office work and onsite at US Steel or other client plants/facilities, especially during outages. The office is located in Crown Point, IN. Occasionally, there may be a need to work out-of-state, such as during a potential outage in Pittsburgh for up to 60 days, with expenses covered on a per diem basis. Most work is concentrated in the Chicagoland area, particularly in Northwest Indiana.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.44 - $33.65/hr.
