What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intermediate Electrical Designer position at Actalent?
Job Description:
The Design Technician will be responsible for Designing engineering drawings for electrical - civil Overhead or underground distribution systems .They will also be required to mentor and train other junior design technicians on the team. They will perform engineering calculations such as voltage drop, pole loading analysis, cable pulling calculation or review the calculations created by design technicians. They will select or verify adequately rated equipment or components such as Transformers, Switches, equipment sizing, etc.
Requirements:
1. Degree in Electrical Engineering/ Utilities related engineering .
2. 5 years Power Distribution Design (Overhead, Underground systems) .
3. Experience working with Utility Owners in Ontario.
4. Proficient in AutoCAD, MicroStation & SpidaCalc.
5. Experience with :Pole loading analysis, Voltage drop calculations, cable pulling calculations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Professional Engineering Designation
Past experience working on Toronto hydro projects.
