Job Description
We are currently seeking an Industrial Engineer to join our Manufacturing Material Flow & Returnable Packaging team. This role serves as the critical liaison between manufacturing and materials, assisting with the setup of assembly lines. The position is pivotal in designing and improving processes for moving materials throughout the plant and warehouse.
Responsibilities
- Design and improve processes for moving materials, including lineside material presentation, warehouse optimization, and returnable packaging.
- Lead and develop systems for sustaining material delivery methods.
- Optimize material delivery processes by analyzing workflow, space requirements, equipment requirements, storage, and conveyance methods.
- Create visual management schemes and replenishment triggers to enable operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain work instructions (SOPs) for logistics processes such as managing, sequencing, and troubleshooting interplant logistics.
- Assist in the design, development, and procurement of lineside material staging including storage racks, customized carts, skids, and returnable packaging.
- Maintain efficient workflow by planning assembly line and warehouse layouts using CAD.
- Problem-solve top issues causing material outages in production; implement solutions and facilitate activities to improve material availability.
- Design and purchase cost-effective and compliant returnable or expendable packaging systems.
- Coordinate packaging trials for qualification, validation, and approvals internally and externally.
- Support implementation of new suppliers for corrugated, returnable packaging, repairs, etc.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Systems, Logistics/Supply Chain or other closely related technical field of study
- 3 years of Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering experience within a manufacturing setting
- Experience in returnable packaging or NPD or NPL integration
- Audit experience
Work Environment
This position requires working onsite during the first shift, starting between 6-7 am and continuing until 3:30 or 4:30 pm. You will collaborate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to implement a lean logistics flow throughout our expansive manufacturing and warehouse facilities, covering over 900,000 square feet.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
