We are seeking a dedicated Associate Scientist to join our team, responsible for planning and executing in vivo mouse immunization studies. This role involves tasks such as mouse handling, injections (subcutaneous, footpad, intraperitoneal, intravenous), blood sampling, and conducting ELISA-based assays to measure antibody responses. The ideal candidate will also perform multi-color flow cytometry staining and analysis, primary B cell culture, and present data in various group settings. Additionally, the role includes optimizing strategies to elicit robust B cell responses in vivo, characterizing B cell development in genetically engineered mice, and developing approaches to characterize plasma cell responses.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute in vivo mouse immunization studies.
• Handle mice and perform injections (subcutaneous, footpad, intraperitoneal, intravenous).
• Conduct blood sampling and ELISA-based assays to measure antibody responses.
• Perform multi-color flow cytometry staining and analysis.
• Cultivate primary B cell cultures.
• Present data in small and large group settings.
• Optimize strategies to elicit robust B cell responses in vivo.
• Characterize B cell development in genetically engineered mice.
• Develop approaches to characterize plasma cell responses.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree with at least 2 years of experience in a cellular immunology research laboratory.
• Experience with vaccination, tissue isolation, blood sampling, multi-parameter flow cytometry, and ELISA.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of B cell and plasma cell biology.
• Experience in primary culture of B cells and plasma cells.

Work Environment

This position is part of the VI Next Team, responsible for investigating antibodies in the Technology and Discovery Centers. The team studies methods to elicit robust B cell responses and develop approaches to characterize and isolate B cells of interest. The work takes place in a vivarium and laboratory environment and is onsite five days a week, from 8 am to 5 pm. The company offers a vibrant workplace culture with a gym and cafeteria onsite, and plans for a fully staffed daycare within five years. This is a Contract position based out of Tarrytown, NY.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
