Job Description
We are seeking an efficient Histotechnician to join our rapidly expanding laboratory team. In this role, you will be responsible for sectioning FFPE tissue blocks, embedding tissues in paraffin, and performing additional histology responsibilities. These may include routine staining, biosample storage, and general maintenance of the laboratory area. You will work closely with team members to support data generation and analysis at scale, enabling efficient histology operations.
Responsibilities
- Section FFPE blocks and mount tissue on slides.
- Embed tissues in paraffin.
- Perform routine staining and manage biosample storage.
- Maintain general laboratory area and equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to improve histology processing efficiency.
- 3 years of hands-on histology experience.
- Proficiency in using a microtome and preparing tissue samples.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience within complex, fast-paced environments is a plus.
- Detail and quality-oriented approach to work.
- Team player with a drive for efficiency.
- Eager to address bottlenecks in processes.
This is a two-month contract role with potential for extension or conversion to a full-time position. It is a 40-hour per week, onsite position in South San Francisco. The schedule is flexible, but some hours must be worked between 9am-4pm on weekdays for team coordination. You will work in a fast-paced, hands-on laboratory environment, maintaining high-quality standards and contributing to a critical part of our data generation process.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
