Job Description
As a GNC Engineer, you will architect solutions essential for achieving space mission objectives focused on space domain awareness with a strong emphasis on autonomy from both hardware and software perspectives. You will develop architecture, lead trade studies, and guide the GNC team from conceptualization to flight, designing algorithms, simulations, and tools for orbit determination, state estimation, and uncertainty propagation to support space domain awareness efforts.
Responsibilities
- Architect solutions for space mission objectives centered on space domain awareness.
- Develop architecture and lead trade studies for GNC missions.
- Design algorithms, simulations, and tools for orbit determination and state estimation.
- Build and test modeling and simulation tools for orbital/cislunar dynamics, sensor modeling, and visualization.
- Collaborate with software and GNC teams to implement algorithms in flight software.
- Heavily support hardware-in-the-loop testing for integrated system validation.
- Design concepts of operations (CONOPS) balancing thermal, power, momentum, and communications for spacecraft missions.
- Provide mission operations training and support.
- Experience with RPO, GNC, operations, integration, and test.
- Supported a program from cradle to grave.
- Experience with integration and test on hardware.
- Aerospace experience with satellites or spacecraft.
The role is based in an office/manufacturing environment. This is a dynamic startup setting that offers the chance to gain valuable aerospace experience. The team is currently involved in an exciting project involving on-orbit servicing, specifically a mission to rescue the SWIFT telescope with a robotic servicing spacecraft.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $190000.00/yr.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at Katalyst. You will also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of the Employee Stock Option and Equity Plan, as well as a relocation bonus and other discretionary bonuses.
