Geotechnical Inspector

Perform soil testing and geotechnical investigations. Locate and document test pits and borings using GPS and surveying equipment. Collect and classify soil samples. Record observations and prepare field reports. Communicate regularly with contractors, project managers, and team members. Organize and classify samples from drilling operations. Enter and analyze field data. Help prepare reports and project documentation. Support administrative tasks as needed.

• Experience in construction inspection and drilling.
• Ability to use GPS and surveying equipment.
• Strong communication skills.

• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
• Ability to work independently.

Work at various construction sites providing testing for construction materials such as concrete, asphalt, soil, and steel. The role involves 40-hour work weeks with some night shifts. Opportunities for overtime increase as the weather gets warmer. Working hours are from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The dress code includes work boots, jeans, and a button-up shirt. The position requires very independent work, with daily travel to sites. Individuals can pick up Nuclear Gauge equipment from a site before their shift if they do not have their own.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pittsburgh, PA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Pittsburgh,PA.
