Overview

We’re looking for a geologist who can take ownership of projects while also contributing as part of a technical team. This role blends fieldwork and office-based deliverables, with a strong emphasis on environmental investigations, data analysis, and client-facing documentation.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare clear, well-organized technical reports along with supporting visuals such as figures, maps, and data tables
• Maintain and manage environmental datasets and project documentation
• Conduct Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
• Perform investigations at sites regulated under CERCLA, RCRA, and petroleum programs
• Collect and document soil and groundwater samples using a range of field methods
• Coordinate field activities with subcontractors and internal teams
• Assist with proposal development and contribute to business development efforts

What You Bring

• Strong background in geology, environmental science, or a related field
• Hands-on experience with site investigations and soil/groundwater sampling
• Ability to produce high-quality technical and geotechnical reports
• Familiarity with site health and safety requirements and compliance standards
• Current 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD
• Understanding of water quality regulations and NPDES permitting

Nice to Have

• Master’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or similar discipline
• Experience supporting remediation projects and lab data interpretation

Work Environment

This position includes a combination of office and field responsibilities, with up to 50% travel for site work. Team members are expected in the Germantown office one day per week (currently Wednesdays). The company offers an employee-owned structure (ESOP) along with the resources and stability of a larger organization.

This is a Contract position based out of Germantown, MD.

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $35.00/hr.

This is a hybrid position in Germantown,MD.
