Job Description
Join our team as a Field Service Engineer I on the AMHS Sustaining Team, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining and troubleshooting advanced industrial equipment. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for technology and problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS).
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and software-related equipment.
- Analyze system logs, alarms, and error reports to identify root causes of equipment failures.
- Verify software revisions, system configurations, and equipment status during maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Install, configure, and validate hardware and software updates on supported equipment.
- Utilize technical documentation, schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals to perform repairs.
- Support sustaining activities to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
- Escalate complex hardware and software issues to engineering teams and assist with data collection.
- Complete factory training and certification requirements on multiple AMHS platforms and subsystems.
- Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, troubleshooting actions, and equipment status reports.
- 12 months of hands-on technical experience with industrial equipment, automation systems, semiconductor equipment, robotics, or electromechanical systems.
- Associate degree, technical certification, military technical training, or equivalent hands-on experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electronics, or a related field.
- 6 months of experience in verbally troubleshooting technical issues with a co-worker or customer.
- Experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment, robotics, conveyors, AMHS, semiconductor equipment, PLC-controlled systems, or industrial automation.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
- Familiarity with Windows-based systems, device communications, and basic networking concepts.
- Experience using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, laptop-based service software, and log analysis tools.
- Understanding of mechanical assemblies, sensors, motors, drives, pneumatics, and motion control systems.
- Basic knowledge of electrical diagnostic instruments and shop/hand tools.
- PC skills (MS Office, Excel, Windows).
- Excellent customer satisfaction and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel and valid driver's license.
The work environment is characterized by the need to work safely in a clean room near moving mechanical parts and electrical systems. Employees occasionally work in high, precarious, or confined places with exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level is usually moderate. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.
