What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Engineer position at Actalent?
We are seeking multiple Field Engineers to support diverse projects located in Phoenix, Tucson, and Las Vegas. This role involves providing comprehensive project management support throughout the construction phase, ensuring projects meet deadlines while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities- Provide overall project management site support during construction.
- Develop and update project schedules to ensure the project meets deadlines.
- Handle documentation efforts including contracts, submittals, field books, daily reports, and safety logs.
- Assist in the creation and administration of safety and quality plans for the project.
- Serve as a point of contact for subcontract workers to resolve issues and problem-solve options.
- Assess problems and recommend resolutions, raising urgent matters to project leadership.
- Manage the submittal and Request for Information (RFI) processes for specific work features, utilizing PMA and other programs.
- Coordinate with subcontractors/suppliers for specific work packages to ensure accuracy in materials, logistics, changes, and quality.
- Identify and recommend solutions to management regarding barriers to successful building progress.
- Evaluate project design and engineering documents for conflicts and efficient implementation.
- Organize and distribute documents to necessary parties and ensure their retention for future needs.
- Assist in determining the work plan of craft labor in partnership with foremen.
- Audit, purchase, and procure materials, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely delivery.
- Support final inspections and punch list processes with customers for specific responsibilities.
- Build effective relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
- 2 years of experience as a Field Engineer.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil, or Architectural Engineering.
- Commercial construction experience in sectors such as healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, sports/entertainment, higher education, or lab/pharma.
- Ability to independently apply basic principles and theories of construction management or engineering.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical instructions and documents such as blueprints and design documents.
- Basic knowledge of project management principles such as scheduling and estimating.
- Basic to Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the internet.
- Ability to learn and utilize various types of computer software used in Construction Management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships and effectively transfer information.
- Strong multitasking abilities.
- Active listening skills and openness to diverse input and feedback.
- Willingness to travel.
- Experience with a general contractor (GC) is preferred.
- Ground-up construction experience is advantageous.
This is an onsite position at various projects, with typical work hours ranging from 40-50 hours per week depending on project demands. Per diem is offered for those traveling to Tucson or Las Vegas, not applicable for locals. The position is salaried. Current projects include Phoenix - Cardinals training facility, Honor Health, Banner Ironwood, Lab/Pharmaceutical; Tucson - student housing project; Vegas - hotel near the strip, existing Springhill Suites. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
