What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Engineer position at Actalent?
As a Field Engineer, your primary responsibility is to support project staff by ensuring all trade-craft work is planned, scheduled, understood, and executed in alignment with the approved project schedule and documents. This role is designed to build your fundamental understanding of trade work, with the potential to advance into a Project Superintendent position.
Responsibilities- Support the project staff in executing work and resolving field problems as needed.
- Develop and maintain as-built drawings, and assist with or review submittals, change orders, RFIs, and budget forecasts.
- Develop and implement weekly short interval schedules and monitor activities to ensure the project remains on schedule.
- Provide daily project documentation through Daily Reports, pictures, and more.
- Participate in budgeting and controlling costs to ensure project completion within the approved budget.
- Implement the site safety program and ensure subcontractor compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Review work during placement to ensure it is installed within accepted tolerances.
- Review contract drawings, specifications, and shop drawings for proper coordination and installation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Basic knowledge of the construction industry.
- Awareness of technical terminology.
- Understanding of the construction sequence.
- Fundamental business activities and procedures knowledge.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Basic understanding of scheduling programs is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with public projects and large-scale projects such as schools and hospitals.
- Degree in a construction-related field preferred.
- Experience in construction management, project management, and field engineering.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Equipment Certifications.
- Dust Control Certification.
- SWPPP Certification.
The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3 pm. Projects are located within an hour's drive north or south. The environment promotes a family culture, with a strong emphasis on training and development. No remote work is available.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
