Job Description
This Restoration Estimator role focuses on accurately assessing property damage, developing detailed cost estimates, and coordinating with clients, insurance representatives, and internal teams to ensure restoration projects are completed efficiently, on time, and within budget. The position requires a strong blend of technical estimating expertise, customer service, and project coordination to deliver high-quality restoration outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections to evaluate the extent of damage caused by fire, water, mold, or natural disasters.
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for restoration and repair projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and any specialty services.
- Review and interpret blueprints and related project documents to support precise and comprehensive estimates.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing clear updates, answering questions, and addressing concerns throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with insurance companies to ensure all required documentation is submitted and claims are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with internal teams and subcontractors to plan and schedule work so projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Use estimating software and related tools to create, update, and maintain estimates and job files.
- Maintain detailed records of project progress, including photos, reports, change orders, and other necessary documentation.
- Monitor ongoing projects to ensure work aligns with estimates, scope, and client expectations, making adjustments as needed.
- Ensure all work meets company quality standards, industry best practices, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Communicate proactively with all stakeholders to resolve issues, manage expectations, and support successful project outcomes.
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, timeliness, and a high level of service.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience in restoration estimating, including damage assessment and cost estimation for fire, water, mold, or natural disaster projects.
- Strong proficiency with estimating software, such as Xactimate and Symbility, to create detailed and accurate estimates.
- Ability to work effectively with insurance companies, including understanding documentation requirements and claim processes.
- Skill in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction documents.

Work Environment
This role operates in a mixed office and field environment. You will split time between office-based estimating work using software tools such as Xactimate, Symbility, and Microsoft Office, and on-site inspections at residential or commercial properties affected by fire, water, mold, or natural disasters. Site visits may involve working in partially restored, damaged, or damp conditions and navigating around construction or restoration activities. The position typically follows standard business hours, with flexibility needed at times to meet project deadlines or respond to urgent assessments. You will collaborate closely with internal project teams, subcontractors, and insurance representatives in a professional, team-oriented environment focused on quality, accountability, and clear communication. Attire should be professional and appropriate for both office settings and field inspections, including suitable footwear and safety-conscious clothing when visiting job sites.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Burbank, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
