Job Title: Estimator

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to prepare complete and accurate estimates and budgets for various contract types, including lump sum and time and material, for mid to high-rise residential or commercial office projects in Stamford, CT.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for materials, labor, equipment, subcontracts, and construction facilities.
• Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Attend on-site pre-bid/proposal conferences and site visits.
• Develop and review subcontractor scopes of work; accept, review, and analyze subcontractor quotes for best value.
• Prepare project bid status reports and ensure compliance with all specifications, contract Statements of Work, and Bid Invitations.
• Present cost estimates to meet customer proposals, considering general and special conditions.
• Prepare scope specifications and requirements; input project schedules; perform quantity takeoffs; prepare cost summary sheets; and input quantities into estimating software.
• Maintain an accurate, current database of cost codes/accounts for historical data.
• Utilize appropriate company and industry historical data for pricing estimates.

Essential Skills

• 4-year degree in building construction, engineering, or a construction-related field.
• 7–10 years of related estimating experience.
• Advanced project estimator skills, including value engineering calculations and familiarity with engineering nomenclature.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to read, understand, and organize construction plans and specifications.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work well under pressure to meet established deadlines.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and database software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in project management, construction, change orders, real estate, multifamily, apartment buildings, general contracting, construction management, commercial construction, real estate development, preconstruction, estimation, estimating software, and bidding.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Familiarity with site development, safety, tenant improvement, ground-up construction, leasing, and property management.

Work Environment

This is an in-person position located in Stamford, CT. The work schedule is from 8 am to 6 pm onsite. The position offers a competitive salary with the potential for a bonus. This is a Permanent position based out of Stamford, CT.

The pay range for this position is $160000.00 - $180000.00/yr.

This is a fully onsite position in Stamford,CT.
