Project Manager/Estimator

Job Description

Looking for a project manager to manage our $500 million housing project at University of Michigan. The role involves managing the construction of student housing and a dining hall. The individual will oversee change orders, negotiate with clients, and manage costs effectively.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for preconstruction deliverables to clients.
• Develops a strategy for each assigned project.
• Provides support to business sales, team sales, and presentations.
• Ensures sound financial deals through risk management.
• Drives cost leadership and oversees estimates for projects at all stages.
• Maintains accuracy of estimates and ensures the costing database is current.
• Leads the preparation and closure of guaranteed maximum prices.
• Directs and reviews work of Estimating Engineers, Conceptual Estimators, and Sr Estimators.
• Drives deadlines and ensures client satisfaction during preconstruction.
• Attends sales presentations and markets work to existing clients.
• Enforces project planning, logistics, and scheduling.
• Ensures involvement of subcontractors for pricing and supports negotiations.
• Mentors, leads, motivates, and coaches staff.
• Manages successful client relationships.

Essential Skills

• Experience in construction, cost management, and estimating.
• Proficiency in bidding and large project estimation.
• Project management experience is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Construction Management, or related fields.
• Experience with change orders and cost management on large projects.

• Ability to manage and plan work activities and promote a safe culture.
• Familiarity with site requirements, tools, methods, and materials.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Understanding of risk management related to projects and the company.
• Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control.
• Ability to create and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Procore, BIM, and Microsoft Project.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $125000.00/hr.
