Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, building management staff, and project team members to develop a clear understanding of project objectives, schedules, and scopes of work. The role involves preparing material take-offs, pricing, and bid packages, while ensuring all estimates reflect the full scope of the project.
Responsibilities
- Consult with clients, architects, engineers, and project team members to confirm project objectives and scope of work.
- Prepare material take-offs, square footages, and related information for pricing and bid packages.
- Travel to job sites to review conditions and attend client meetings.
- Perform thorough reviews of plans, specifications, and drawings to identify omissions and issue RFIs.
- Obtain and analyze multiple bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Negotiate subcontractor bids to secure competitive pricing.
- Inform the Marketing team of upcoming bid due dates and required RFP information.
- Review requirements such as minimum wage and bond requirements to ensure compliance.
- Clarify pricing inclusions and exclusions before submission.
- Submit estimates by deadlines.
- Maintain contact with clients, architects, engineers, and vendors after job award to assist with any clarifications or issues.
- 7 years of experience as a construction estimator.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, mathematics, or statistics.
- Experience in general construction estimating.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Proficiency in Plan Swift, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project Manager.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
- Experience with commercial interiors, healthcare, institutional, retail, and residential projects.
- Familiarity with core and shell, ground-up, infrastructure, lobby, façade, and base building work.
- Experience in the restaurant and hospitality sectors is advantageous.
- Proactive individual capable of handling multiple priorities and assisting staff as needed.
The position is primarily in-office with the option to work from home every second Friday. The work environment emphasizes teamwork and collaboration to successfully estimate and build projects that achieve excellence.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of New York, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $180000.00/yr.
