Description

Review drawings, specifications, bid packages, and related project documentation to determine full electrical scope and proposal requirements Develop detailed electrical cost estimates by analyzing construction documents, labor requirements, material quantities, and equipment needs Evaluate projects for value engineering opportunities while considering job-specific conditions that impact labor productivity and material installation Identify document discrepancies, conflicts, omissions, and constructability concerns that may impact pricing or execution Develop bid strategies that create competitive advantages while managing risk Proactively anticipate potential construction or procurement challenges and recommend mitigation strategies Solicit pricing from material suppliers and equipment vendors Review vendor and supplier quotes to ensure compliance with quote requests and pricing accuracy Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with vendors and suppliers Prepare complete bid packages, including detailed scope letters, Blue Sheets, and evaluation documents with appropriate adjustments for labor rates, productivity, buyouts, and assumptions Support budget pricing efforts for preconstruction and early design phases Communicate bid status, risks, and pricing updates to management, project teams, clients, and general contractors

Additional Skills & Qualifications

5–10 years of experience in electrical estimating and/or the electrical construction industry Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience) Strong working knowledge of electrical materials, systems, and installation methods Demonstrated estimating experience in one or more of the following market sectors: Mission Critical / Data Centers Healthcare facilities Multi‑story and mixed‑use commercial buildings Proficiency with Accubid Classic or Accubid Pro estimating software Experience with Accubid LiveCount is preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) Experience using Bluebeam Revu for document review and takeoffs is preferred Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously while meeting deadlines
