Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Technician to support landfill sites in Orlando. This role requires a variety of daily tasks to maintain and support landfill gas systems. You will perform operations, maintenance, inspections, and tasks focused in pump maintenance, rebuilding and repairs. Additionally, you may read gas levels using gas meters like GEM500 or Envisions and handle daily, weekly, and monthly reporting. The role involves overseeing project work and providing assistance as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform operations, maintenance, and inspections on landfill gas systems.
• Conduct pump maintenance, flare maintenance, well raising, and pipe fusion.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
• Oversee and assist with project work as needed.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions and navigate landfill site terrain.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical or environmental background with technical experience.
• Proficiency in pump maintenance and problem-solving abilities.
• Understanding of computer technologies, particularly Outlook and Excel.
• Experience with landfill gas monitoring and environmental fieldwork is a plus
• Ability to work onsite 100% of the time.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 1 years of experience as an environmental technician, field technician, landfill gas technician, pump technician or similar.
• 40 HR HAZWOPER certification is not required but beneficial.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and dependable.
• Capability to pass an MVR check.
• Possession of steel toe boots, with potential for a boot voucher.
• No degree required

Work Environment

The work environment is outdoors on a large landfill site, involving walking up and down multiple hills and slopes to service 400-500 wells/connection points. The company provides the best equipment and tools, offers opportunities for career advancement, and has an ESOP plan. Employees receive seven billable holidays, and 80 hours of PTO after six months. The standard workweek is 40 hours. Dress code includes steel toe boots and proper PPE (provided).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Orlando,FL.
