Job Title: Environmental Operation and Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental O&M Technician to support field operations and remediation system maintenance across Florida. This role involves both independent and team-based work, focusing on environmental sampling, system operations, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform soil, groundwater, and surface water sampling in accordance with FDEP SOPs.
• Conduct routine operations and maintenance of environmental remediation systems.
• Assist with pilot testing, system installation oversight, and injection activities.
• Oversee subcontractors during well drilling, abandonments, and excavations.
• Maintain accurate field notes and system performance records.
• Support site assessments and tank closure evaluations.
• Communicate effectively with team members, regulators, and clients.
• Contribute to technical reporting and documentation as needed.

Essential Skills

• Environmental Sampling: Soil, groundwater, and surface water sampling per FDEP SOPs.
• Remediation System Operations: Hands-on experience with operating and maintaining remediation systems.
• Field Documentation: Accurate record-keeping of field activities and system performance.
• Subcontractor Oversight: Supervising drilling, well installation, and excavation activities.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with UST closures, site assessments, and environmental compliance.
• Communication: Clear and professional interaction with coworkers, clients, and regulators.
• Physical Capability: Ability to lift equipment and perform physically demanding fieldwork.
• Certifications: 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER.
• Driving: Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• FDEP Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of FAC Chapter 62-777 and 62-780.
• ATC Experience: Prior work with an FDEP-approved Agency Term Contractor.
• Pilot Testing Support: Experience assisting with pilot tests for remediation systems.
• System Installation Oversight: Exposure to remediation system construction and installation.
• Technical Reporting: Ability to contribute to environmental reports and documentation.
• Remote Work Readiness: Comfortable working independently in a remote and field-based role.
• Instrumentation Use: Familiarity with water level meters, PID, flow meters, etc.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $29.00/hr.
