Environmental Health And Safety Speciailist

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting, developing, and enhancing EHS compliance and risk management processes. This position involves driving understanding and engagement to improve EHS performance, influencing leadership, and integrating EHS into daily operations. The EHS Specialist will be responsible for executing compliance programs, ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal standards, and building relationships with stakeholders to achieve compliance.

• Support the development and implementation of environmental, health, and safety programs, tools, and standards.
• Conduct investigations to prevent occupational disease and industrial health hazards.
• Promote EHS awareness through effective employee communication and participation.
• Serve as the key point of contact for safety and environmental issues.
• Support regulated waste management, including consolidation and inspections.
• Conduct compliance tasks such as storm water sampling, waste inspections, chemical inventory, and life safety audits.
• Execute compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and customer requirements.
• Conduct EHS audits and develop action plans to resolve findings.
• Perform risk assessments related to jobs performed for new processes and equipment.
• Maintain accurate metrics for reporting to management teams and corporate systems.
• Recommend risk mitigation measures related to ergonomics.
• Establish and manage the safety committee.
• Drive continual improvement efforts to reduce site safety and environmental risks.
• Support site stand-up meetings, safety committees, and floor inspections.

• Knowledge of EHS regulations and risk assessment.
• Experience in a manufacturing plant environment.
• Understanding of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in security and personnel matters.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in industrial hygiene, occupational health, environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
• 1 years’ experience in EHS support, especially in warehousing.

The position is based in Kirkland and requires the ability to lift up to 49 pounds and stand/walk for up to 10 hours. The role involves working flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends. The schedule consists of working four 10-hour shifts from Wednesday to Saturday, during the 2nd shift from 4:30pm to 3am.

This is a Contract position based out of Kirkland, WA.

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Kirkland,WA.
